As someone who has practiced both styles, here are my observations. The Wing Chun guy will have an advantage, simply because he is conserving his energy, and the kickboxer has to expend a lot more to be effective. That said, this kickboxer was not up to par to go against this (or any other) boxer.
This kickboxer is not very good - You simply can’t let someone rush into you, and not throw up a side kick! Besides that, he is not jabbing, feining and faking kicks. Every kick he throws is lighthearted at best, and too few.
In a situation like this, the WC guy will have the upper hand. If the kickboxer is in superb shape, and knows how to defend against a simple rush, then the Kickboxer could have the advantage. Practically speaking, it is better to be the WC guy, because you can take three months off, and still be pretty effective. The hard stylist takes three months off, and he’ll be looking as ineffective as this guy in the video.

Hey 1, I agree. The point is WC makes more efficient use of body dynamics for fighting. It conforms to principles of the human body and its mechanics. Great clip though, and yea, the kick boxing guy is weak but the WC guy was precise and effective.
